Small Animals

Your pet’s health is vital, and we at Hancock Veterinary Clinic are pleased to provide a wide variety of services to ensure your pet stays healthy. Small animal diagnostic services include in-house bloodwork, heartworm testing, intestinal parasite screening, digital radiography, and ultrasonography. We are also equipped to perform dental cleanings and extractions as well as many surgical procedures. Cattle

Proper nutrition to cattle is a vital aspect to your herd’s well being. Hancock Vet Clinic utilizes Iowa State University’s BRaNDS program to assist cattle owners. We will help you balance rations and determine appropriate mineral and vitamin supplements. Whether your feedlot is a few heads or a few thousands, we can help manage your lot. Our veterinarians and staff are trained and experienced on Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) development, nutrition and vaccinations. From synchronizing your heifers and cows to artificial insemination to diagnosing infertility Hancock Veterinary Clinic can help you.

Equine

The care of your horses is one of our top priorities. Our services are aimed at increasing your horses’ longevity and quality of life. We offer digital Coggins testing, intestinal parasite screenings, and in-house bloodwork. We will work closely with you to create and maintain a preventative health schedule for your team of horses. We also perform all dental services, sheath cleaning, vaccinations, and various surgical procedures, including castrations. Wellness Care

Your animal’s wellness care includes regular health screenings, vaccinations, and comprehensive physical examinations. We will create a vaccination schedule that fits you and your animals’ needs as well. As pets age, wellness care can extend to include bloodwork screenings and advanced diagnostics. We believe that many diseases can be prevented by completing wellness care regularly. We also provide wellness care to large animals including customized cattle herd health protocols and equine vaccinations and coggins testing.

Boarding

We offer year-round climate controlled boarding for dogs and cats at both clinics with a trained staff that is equipped to administer medications and insulin. Your pet will receive loving care and attention just like they would receive at home. The cost of boarding includes a sensitive stomach dry dog and/or cat food. You are welcome to bring any food of your choice. We invite you to bring toys and treats to make your pet’s stay with us as comfortable as possible. For the safety of all boarders we require current vaccinations including Distemper/Parvovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies for dogs, and Distemper and Rabies for cats.

Grooming

We offer grooming services for dogs and cats including clips, baths, and nail trims. We require current vaccinations including Distemper/Parvovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies for dogs, and Distemper and Rabies for cats.

Surgical

Hancock Veterinary Clinic has up-to-date equipment and training to perform large and small animal surgical procedures. For your small animals, our veterinarians can perform spays, neuters, soft tissue surgeries (mass removals, cystotomies, caesarian sections, gastrointestinal surgeries, laceration repair, etc.), minor orthopedic surgeries, and dental cleanings/extractions. We have a heated surgical table and utilize gas anesthesia to make your pets as comfortable as possible during surgery. Large animal surgical procedures we perform include castration, dehorning, umbilical hernia repair, laceration repair, and caesarian sections. We also have a climate controlled haul-in facility to make large animal surgery more easily accessible.

Farm Calls

Our veterinarians are well versed in providing a number of preventative, medical, and surgical services on a farm-call basis. Farm trucks are equipped to treat cattle, equine, and small ruminants. Additionally, performing farm calls provides us with the opportunity to observe farm conditions and offer advice to help the farm owner and livestock perform at top levels of production.

Pharmacy

Hancock Veterinary Clinic carries a full line of products to meet all of our large and small animal patients’ needs. These range from parasite prevention to vaccinations to prescription medications and many others. We also offer a full line of Hill’s Science Diet and Purina prescription diets and Purina ProPlan wellness diets.
